What to buy with it

  • The chiller is the running cost; a plug-in meter shows what it draws in your garden, not in the brochure. MECHEER plug-in energy monitor (£11.88 at Amazon UK, 4.5 stars from 5,400 ratings)
  • The display tells you the temperature at the chiller's inlet. A thermometer floating in the tub tells you what you are actually sitting in. Intex floating pool thermometer (£7.49 at Amazon UK, 4.4 stars from 4,444 ratings)

Cold water immersion places real stress on the heart and circulation. Anyone with a cardiovascular condition, high blood pressure, a history of arrhythmia, or who is pregnant should speak to a doctor before using a cold plunge. Never plunge alone. Start with short sessions at mild temperatures and progress gradually. Read the full safety guide.
