Our verdict
On paper Lumi still does a lot for the money. The Pod Max Ultra is £89 for 420 litres with 10 mm insulated walls, and the hard-wall Pod Pro and Pro 8 state 50 mm and 80 mm of insulation, figures not every rival publishes. The question mark is support. Lumi Therapy Ltd went into administration on 29 August 2025, and the shop is now run by a different company, Sno Solutions Ltd, formed in July 2025. Owner reviews have fallen: the 200 most recent on Trustpilot (June 2025 to September 2026) average 2.5 stars, 125 of them give one or two, and the 150 posted since the administration average 1.9. The same complaints repeat: emails that go unanswered, warranty claims that stall, seams that split and chillers that stop.
That changes what we would buy. The £89 Pod Max Ultra is a cheap way to find out whether you will plunge every day, and at that price the risk is small. We would not spend £758 to £1,048 on a Lumi chiller bundle while support looks like this: Kove's Arctic with Core Chiller costs £749, states 1,200 W of cooling and carries two years on both halves.
